approach.
CLOSED
To check understanding of information given which results
in a yes or no answer.
PROBING
Used to gather further information.
REFLECTIVE
Allows mentee to provide additional information, including
own emotions.
LEADING
Forces the mentee to agree with mentor's view of the situation.
HYPOTHETICAL
Helps to get the mentee to think what he/she would do in
a possible situation.
MULTIPLE
This is not a suitable approach. The mentee would only
answer either the first or last question as these would probably be the
only ones he/she could remember.
SPECIFIC
Used to obtain specific facts through a direct approach.
